The rector of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, met this morning with a delegation from the Guangzhou Sports Institute of Higher Education (China). During this visit, cooperation between the two institutions in the field of sports was discussed. Additionally, this afternoon they will learn about the Sports Research Center (CID) and the sports facilities on the UMH Elche campus.
During this visit, the representatives of the Chinese institution were accompanied by the Vice-Rector of International Relations, Vicente Micol; the Vice-Rector of Students and Sports, Francisco Javier Moreno; the Director of the Sports Research Center, Eduardo Cervelló, and the Dean of the Faculty of Sociosanitary Sciences, Francisco José Vera.
Additionally, tomorrow they will visit the International Relations Service of the UMH, as well as the Arenales building and the Scientific Park on the Elche campus. They will also meet with the mayor of Elche, Carlos González, at the City Hall. To conclude the day, they will visit the Sports Council and watch some local teams train.
This meeting was made possible thanks to the collaboration agreement between this Chinese institution and the International Relations, Development Cooperation, and Volunteering Service of the UMH.
